    Sustainable Tips

    4 June

At Vicar Lane, our tenants are doing their bit to help customers live more sustainably.

    Reduce Food Waste!

Did you know coffee grounds can be used as a fertiliser in your garden? Collect them for free at Coffee #1 and Qoozies.

Grab a bargain at the end of the day to help reduce food waste!

Download the Too Good to Go and Olio app and pick up a bag of goodies from Coffee #1, Iceland and Holland & Barrett.

Did you know that you can recycle all sorts at Vicar Lane?

    Pre-loved clothes

Drop your pre-loved clothes into the following stores…

    • H&M – Bring a bag of unwanted clothes (including home textiles and shoes) to any H&M store, on any day of the year and we will make sure they are reused, re-worn or recycled with 0% going to landfill. All customers receive a £5 voucher for each bag of unwanted clothes they recycle with H&M
    • River Island – receive £5 voucher to use the next time you shop with them. T&C’s apply – minimum of 3 items to be recycled.

    Old Electronics and Batteries

Get paid for recycling your old electronics, at CEX by dropping them into store.

Plus find a mobile phone recycling point and domestic battery recycling point in the 3 store.

If you’re buying a new electrical item from Superdrug, they’ll recycle the one you’re replacing for free and you can recycle your old batteries.

The Works also now have a Waste Safe Mini for recycling small household appliances, IT and communications equipment, powered tools, toys, games, leisure equipment, uncontaminated medical devices, control instruments, smoke detectors (with no radioactive content) and dispensers.

At Superdrug you can recycle your empty makeup products.

Turn your broken or unwanted jewellery and coins into cash or an F Hinds gift card with F Hinds free, no obligation service. We will also buy your unwanted platinum and silver too. Unwanted silver can only be exchanged for money on a Gift Card, not a cash payout.
