See Santa in his autism-friendly Grotto!
Come and join us for the official launch of our brand new big screen in St. James’ Square on Friday 6th December from 11am.
We’ll start the event at 11am on the day with a local business networking event taking place in the newly transformed Unit 25, underneath the screen. Refreshments will be available during the event and there will be presentations from Alterx – owners of Vicar Lane – from 11.30am and a special guest speaker from 11.45am, before the ribbon cutting and official switch-on of the screen at 12pm.
You will then be able to enjoy a series of screenings from new independent stores at Vicar Lane – Shop Indie and Rate Cute – as well as Let’s Go Peak District and Destination Chesterfield.
Between 12.30pm and 2.30pm you will have the chance to enjoy a PIING social gaming event, for anyone who wishes to stay and take part.

The installation of the big screen is the first step in a list of improvements that Alterx, who bought the Vicar Lane out of administration earlier in the year plan to make here, having identified an opportunity to revitalise the centre. So, this event is a celebration of their plans coming to fruition and tangible evidence of the investments being made in Vicar Lane for everyone to see.
The new LED screen will be used throughout the year and during key seasonal events to create a much more animated focal point and a lively new meeting area for shoppers within the town, as well as being a key feature in FREE events run here, so why not be one of the first to see it in all its glory?
