Vicar Lane Care Packages make their journey to Poland

    1 June

We would like to give a huge thanks to each and every one of you that made a kind donation to our crisis collection throughout March and April, supporting the people of Ukraine as they face devastating circumstances.

As a result of everyone pulling together, we managed to send a total of 65 care packages to all the men women and children in crisis.

On 16th March, we put the call out for much needed essential donations and were overwhelmed by the quick response and generosity of our local community and staff. Everyone got involved providing items such as toiletries, sanitary products, baby items and first aid care. Our management suite became a drop-off point for the items, and our conference room became a temporary storage area which was completely full by the end of week one!

Donations were packaged up in shoe boxes kindly provided by Deichmann and with the help of local members of the community and the Annunciation Roman Catholic Church in Chesterfield, who were organising a larger scale distribution to refugees, we loaded all care packages onto into a lorry headed for Boguchwala, Poland on 5th April.

These have all now been received by needy people in Ukraine. We would like to say a special thanks to members of the public who went out of their way to purchase and donate the items to our cause. And another massive thanks to New Look, The Works and Clarissa’s Interiors for their generous donations, as well as the Vicar Lane team.
